I think it's a masterpiece; in the same way 'The Graduate' is a masterpiece.

The main actor? You mean JASON SCHWARTZMAN? Come on. He's brilliant! And so is Wes! And so is this movie! It IS a masterpiece, one that has had great influence on many films in the past decade.
So good to see one of my favorite actors included in this assemblage of images. From Deadwood to Zodiac to Rushmore, it's always a pleasure to see Brian Cox in performance. His participation in Rushmore, albeit spotty, is the icing on the cake.

I agree with Huey, this is a brilliant film. Wes Anderson is a truly unique filmmaker. From Bottle Rocket to Darjeeling Limited, Anderson is always interesting, often poignant, and on many occasions sublime. Rushmore makes me happy, and I'm sure this blu-ray will be spectacular.

So good, such a perfectly shot movie, and the fact that Anderson plucked Schwartzman out of nowhere and for him to be so good, underrated I would even say is amazing. Wes Anderson brought us The Wilson brothers, Jason Schwartzman, depressed boozy Bill Murray and David Bowie in Porteguese. The guy is awesome.

Well... agreed Schwartzman is underrated and amazing. But I wouldn't say Anderson plucked him out of NOWHERE. He belongs to a family of cinematic royalty, after all-- son of Talia Shire, nephew of Francis Ford Coppola, etc.
“cant wait to grab this, great release. watching the 3 reasons reminded me of another wonderful prison film, Kiss of the Spider Woman, which altho available in a nice edition already, would make a . . .”
“Having just revisited this peculiar but stupendously worthy film, I have to express a contrary opinion to the effect that I found Steiger's magnificently fleshed-out and characterized villain to . . .”
