“Hideo Gosha’s Three Outlaw Samurai can hold its head high alongside the Kurosawa classics,” promises Matt Hough in his Home Theater Forum review of the classic swordplay movie, now on Blu-ray and DVD. Randy Miller III of DVD Talk says the film “packs plenty of drama, suspense, and intrigue into just ninety-three minutes,” and calls out its “fantastic performances, memorable score by Toshiaki Tsushima, and stylish cinematography by Tadashi Sakai.” And for Greencine’s Philip Tatler IV, Three Outlaw Samurai is “remarkable,” a “mini-masterpiece.”
