I know this is limited to CC releases, but Star Wars does legitimately have one of the greatest, most cinematically expressive and well-composed opening shots.

How about releasing the film with the greatest opening shot ever made - Bela Tarr's Werckmeister Harmonies....?

when i first saw this opening shot i immediately bought the movie with no other information on the film or director, and i now place both among the greatest. sadly not on criterion, ahem.
