• Each weekend this month, Minneapolis’s Trylon Cinema is spotlighting a different classic by cinema’s ultimate Italian maestro in a small retrospective called Federico Fellini: Beauty in the Mire. This week, local moviegoers can take in the director’s fondly recalled I vitelloni, a semiautobiographical film about young men dreaming of escape from their small seacoast town. It’s a wistful and utterly charming early film from Fellini, one that clearly paved the way for his later, increasingly whimsical nostalgic portraits. Watch the giddy original trailer below for I vitelloni, which plays at the Trylon April 12–14.
