By paradox NOT the best Bergman, but the most popular! "Cries and Whispers", "Wild Strawberries", " Seven Seal", "Autumn Sonata" are far more accetique and simple by thus better.

I'm on a first name basis with about two dozen Bergman films and have been a fan of his work for maybe 12 years now. I cherish about six or seven. This is my favorite of the bunch. It's the only film I've ever seen that makes me weep at one point. Where in the film this happens I'll keep to myself.
