10 Things I Learned: Red River

Borden Chase, who wrote the novel Red River was based on and cowrote the screenplay, held down a number of odd jobs before turning to letters, including a turn as a construction worker on the Holland Tunnel. His book Sandhog was based on that experience, and turned into the 1935 Raoul Walsh film Under Pressure.
