Lena Dunham wrote, directed, and stars in Tiny Furniture, now on Criterion Blu-ray and DVD, and, as Garrett Conti puts it in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, “she handles every bit of it famously.” As for the film itself, Matt Brennan at indieWIRE calls it “precise, funny, and unsparing,” adding, “There are plenty of films that get at the general ennui of the modern twentysomething, but very few that apprehend so exactly the elements of fear, stark sexuality, and bad temper that come with it.” And for the Amarillo Globe-News, Chip Chandler says it’s “a marvelous introduction to a filmmaker of immense potential.”
