The Immortal Story: Divas and Dandies By Jonathan Rosenbaum
10 Things I Learned: A Taste of Honey By Elizabeth Pauker
Symphony Space goes gonzo today: the theater on Manhattan’s Upper West Side is celebrating the fortieth anniversary of the publication of Hunter S. Thompson’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas with a special reading of selections from the book. Actors Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos), Anthony Rapp (Dazed and Confused), and Scott Shepherd (the recent off-Broadway hit Gatz) will be on hand to read, alongside guest speakers Chuck Klosterman, Terry McDonell, and Matt Taibbi. This is part of Symphony Space’s ongoing Selected Shorts series, in which actors perform short stories (upcoming events will involve the work of Jonathan Safran Foer and Neil Gaiman); click here for ticket info. Terry Gilliam’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is coming out in a Criterion Blu-ray edition on April 26.
