In April, the great Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami made a special onstage appearance at Indiana University Bloomington to discuss both his career and his latest film, Like Someone in Love, available from the Criterion Collection. We were there to record the conversation, which was moderated by Richard Peña, professor of film studies at Columbia University. These highlights include the director talking about his use of reflections in his films and the surprising revelation that he met with the legendary Tatsuya Nakadai (Ran) to see if he wanted to star in Like Someone in Love.
