Look no further than today’s Daily Mirror for proof of Kurosawa’s influence on world filmmaking. In honor of Kurosawa’s centenary, the British paper has put together a list of ten quotes from famous filmmakers praising the immortal Japanese director. Some in particular tickled us, including those from Sam Peckinpah (“I’d like to be able to make a western like Kurosawa makes westerns”) and Martin Scorsese (“His influence on filmmakers throughout the entire world is so profound as to be almost incomparable”).
