Devilish Fun at the Brattle

No nosy neighbors have ever been quite as troublesome as the Castavets in the great American horror film Rosemary’s Baby, which moviegoers in Cambridge, Massachusetts, can enjoy on the big screen at the historic Brattle Theatre on October 25 and 29. Roman Polanski’s tale of witchcraft and a really difficult pregnancy is often referred to as one of the scariest horror films of all time, but it’s just as drily funny as it is sinister. Much of its humor comes from Ruth Gordon’s brilliant, Oscar-winning performance as the snoopy Minnie Castevet, who seems like a harmless annoyance when our heroine first lets her in.
