As unspeakably horrific as much of Antichrist is, the film occasionally walks the line between the scary and the wacky. Among its claims to infamy is the instant-classic sequence in which Willem Dafoe encounters a rather talkative fox in the woods. Check it out below—truth be told, this anthropomorphized beast has always brought a rather silly smile to our faces, despite the gore. Viewers in Denver can discover for themselves whether they’re more inclined to smile or scream during Lars von Trier’s one-of-a-kind work of gross-out horror when it plays in two midnight showings this weekend (October 26 and 27) at the Esquire Theatre—just in time for Halloween.
