• Our own Kim Hendrickson and Susan Arosteguy will be in Columbus, Ohio, tonight to discuss movies—and monsters—at the Wexner Center for the Arts. At 7 p.m., in an event the Wexner’s website promises will be a “behind-the-scenes look at Criterion’s operation,” the two producers will share insights into the processes behind such recent releases as Carlos; Salò, or The 120 Days of Sodom; and Island of Lost Souls. Lucky guests will then be treated to a special screening of Island, the long-unavailable 1932 Hollywood creature feature starring Charles Laughton as the diabolical Dr. Moreau—which is coming out on Criterion DVD and Blu-ray October 25.

Good news for those of us who are far from Columbus: the Wexner will be live streaming the discussion!
