• The Criterion Collection is proud to announce the digital premiere of Laurie Anderson’s beautiful new film Heart of a Dog, which will have an exclusive engagement on iTunes and Vudu March 1–29. The intimate and moving nonfiction feature centers on the passing of Anderson’s late, beloved terrier Lolabelle, using that loss as a starting point for a beautiful meditation on life, love, and death. To get a taste of the film, watch an excerpt below in which Lolabelle plays the piano. And if you didn’t have a chance to see Heart of a Dog in theaters, remember to look for it beginning Tuesday.

Wasn't so impressed. Although it is executed in magnificent beauty its attemp to cover so many different themes just doesn't help it very much.

Reminds me how much I would LOVE to see her film Home of the Brave out on Blu-Ray - or even DVD. I owned it on LaserDisc (Japanese import). Wonder who has the right to that film nowadays - I know Cinecom released it theatrically in the US, but I'm not sure who released it on VHS in the U.S. as I was on LD back then.

Please release this movie and Home of the Brave! I would happily buy a Laurie Anderson collection. This is probably my favorite film of 2015. And her concert film is so inspiring to watch.
