Scott MacDonald is the author of the series A Critical Cinema: Interviews with Independent Filmmakers, now in five volumes, as well as seven other books about independent cinema, including, most recently, Adventures of Perception: Cinema as Exploration (2009). He teaches at Hamilton College and Harvard University.
