1. The Mod fashion. "My jacket's gonna be cut and slim and checked,
Maybe a touch of seersucker, with an open neck."
2.Sting in his bellhop uniform. "Bell Boy! I got to keep running now.
Bell Boy! Keep my lip buttoned down.
Bell Boy! Carry this baggage out.
Bell Boy! Always running at someone's heel."
3. The Who at their very best! "And when your soul tells you to hide
Your very right to die denied
And in the battle on the streets
You fight computers and receipts
And when a man is trying to change
But only causes further pain
You realize that all along
Something in us going wrong..."

Thanks to HULU I know not to waste my money (it's still available without Hulu+ subscription); below average "coming of age" film imo. Music is pretty good though and the end is very effective. Nice to know Sting was a douche even back then.
1) "We are the Mods!" - cool portrayal of a very unique British subculture and bygone era 2) "The Punk & the Godfather" - The Who's music come to life 3) "My Generation" - The confusion and angst of youth done right.
Just watched this film on my Criterion bluray - brilliant the surround mix on The Who music is superb. Loved going back to my teenage ages when I saw this on VHS. Great extra features. I live in Southend on Sea, Essex another sea side town, another bluray to add to my steadily growing Criterion collection.
“Michael, I'm not sure what you mean by "Turner DVD" nor what you mean by there being an editing issue. Are you referring to the Warner DVD with the red snap-case? It does have a cropping issue . . .”
“After Golden Age of cinema with Visconti, Rossellini and De Sica , now, we miss that time and asking our-self where Italian cinema is. I think real melodrama is this reality.”
