My most desired Criterion releases:
Marketa Lazarova
Greed
The Mystery of Oberwald
Odd Man Out
Tristana
Rabid Dogs
Prospero's Books
Drowning By Numbers
The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover
Olivier Assayas' five from '86 to '94 would make a perfect Eclipse series!

There are a multitude of titles that need restoration and/or remastering. There are two titles that have already been restored but have yet to see the light of DVD ... the recent BFI/Warner restoration of 1958's Dracula (Horror of Dracula in the US) and Farewell My Lovely ( I saw the restoration on cable about a year ago, shown in the proper aspect ratio). It would be wonderful to have these, Criterion.

Please consider a full Criterion treatment of the 1947 Best Picture Winner, "Gentleman's Agreement" starring Gregory Peck. It is a classic film that deals with a social issue at the time (and to a certain extent currently too) that had never previously been dealt with in so frank a way.
There is only a "so-so" standard DVD transfer available as part of a 4-movie set from Fox and no current Blu-ray is available.
PLEASE Criterion, this one's right up your alley!
Thanks,
JAY LEVINE

My problem with criterion is, what happened with the laser discs you released, they don't belong on DVD, breaking the waves, Bram stoker's Dracula, and other movies, now what about a beloved underground movie no one has mentioned like "melody" from 1971 England, written by Alan Parker, soundtrack by the Bee Gees, come on somebody back me up here... Thanx criterion for the many classics you have giving us, but please consider and remember the old movies you've released but haven't gotten the DVD treatment, and now were in the blu ray era, come on guys don't drop the ball... Sincerely a fan who appreciates good films.

Badlands preferably with Lanton Mills. Billy Wilder, Jack Fisk commentary!
I would also like to see Cornel Wilde's Maracaibo at some point, maybe Criterion can look into releasing that.
Films that I think should be included are McCabe and Mrs. Miller, Fat City, The Shining, Hi, Mom!, Phantom of the Paradise, The Long Goodbye, California Split, The Color Of Money, Three Days of the Condor, Carrie, Thieves Like Us, Nashville, Prizzi's Honor, Carnal Knowledge
More films that I think should be added to the collection: Cactus Flower, Dressed To Kill,
Deliverance, The Odd Couple, The Hill, goldfinger, What's Up Doc?, Adaptation, Moonrise Kingdom, The Graduate, The Player, Ocean's 11 (1960), Tootsie, The Age of Innocence, The Asphalt Jungle, The Night of the Iguana, Roger & Me, The Hours

Scorsese's "After Hours" (1985) would totally make my 2013:
"Shows how much you know about art. The uglier it is, the more it's worth"
"This must be worth a fortune, man."
“Having just revisited this peculiar but stupendously worthy film, I have to express a contrary opinion to the effect that I found Steiger's magnificently fleshed-out and characterized villain to . . .”
“I don't see why this shouldn't get made. Back in the early days Criterion released another Ivan Reitman film. Laserdisc edition of Ghostbusters. Both combine humor and action to make a different . . .”
“"Benjamin Button" is one of the least gratuitous movies I've ever seen, it's so well-constructed. I felt as if the whole movie was 'ephemeral', not just the Cape Canaveral scene. ”
