I first became addicted to European/art house films when I saw Loves of a Blonde in 2001. From there I tried Umberto D., Knife in the Water, Summer With Monika and The Silence (all on VHS taken out from the Mississauga library system). My first Criterion experience was Band of Outsiders (next came Contempt). I have never looked back. These movies constantly inspire me with their undiminished freshness and beauty.
