The Criterion Collection

In my mid-teens I'd browse "award winners", "cult" and "staff picks" sections of video stores. You know, look beyond "new releases" and "best sellers". Then I discovered AFI and EW lists of great films. I'd seek titles from these lists in video stores and online and from there I noticed these older movies called "Do the Right Thing" and "8 1/2" and "The Seventh Seal" had editions that seemed somewhat exceptional. They were Criterion editions. That's how I got hooked.
