I am proud to say that I have been an avid and loyal fan of the Criterion Collection film library since 2002. My first Criterion film was Kevin Smith's, "Chasing Amy". Personally, what I always thought made the Criterion Collection truly stand out as a pioneer in delivering classic and contemporary films was their presentation. In short, you were truly buying a timeless piece of art work as opposed to "just" a dvd, or "just" a laser disc, or "just" a Blu Ray; generic descriptions don't apply to the Criterion Collection. My favorite Director Collaborations with the Criterion Collection are David Cronenberg, Bernardo Bertolucci, Wes Anderson, Mike Leigh, Akira Kurosawa and Wim Wenders to name a few. Don't be mislead though as my Criteiron film library is not exclusive to these directors only. I have about 150 different Spine #'s ranging from all different country origins and genres as well. For the past year I have been upgrading my blu ray collection too which has been nothing short of excellent. Criterion fans know where we stand in terms of quality. Besides viewing Criterion Films, I am an avid reader and writer (Review Criterion films on Amazon). I am also an avid runner too; traveling to unknown places is fun and enlightening. It is usually nice to experience beautiful places, especially if they have been remastered in a Criteiron Film. Besides David Cronenberg's Scanners, I would love to see the prestigious Criterion Film Library add Roman Polanski's "Macbeth".
