I was a pretentious 15-year-old who spent a lot of time in repertory movie houses watching movies he'd heard so much about but, ultimately, barely understood. At 44, I'm still pretentious (but humbly so) and still trying to understand the films, books, and music that everyone cool has always seemed to know about.
