Jack Welch

I'm a young student and addict of film and literature. My introduction to the Criterion Collection, and the start of cinema as the central passion and influence in my life, took place in mid-2010. Many of the movies I saw for the first time that year - my solace and obsession during a difficult transition to college - were part of the Criterion Collection; preeminent among those were Seven Samurai, The Third Man, and 8 1/2. The latter two, along with Yojimbo, became my first Criterion purchases. Love of movies has remained central to my identity, and I have come to deeply value the Criterion label. I anxiously await the entry of Werner Herzog, Howard Hawks, and Paul Thomas Anderson into the Collection!
