A New Year’s treat from the Film Society of Lincoln Center: Jacques Tati’s supersized comic odyssey Playtime will be shown in its original, rarely screened 70 mm format at the Walter Reade Theater. If you haven’t seen this visionary work, which at the time of its release was the most expensive production in French history (for the film, Tati did, after all, build . . . a city!), now’s your chance to see it looming as large as its creator intended. But catch it while you can, as this is a one-day-only event, with four screenings on January 5. Click here for time and ticket info.
