I have always loved movies. When I was younger, I really got into mafia and gangster films, such as Goodfellas, which led me to The Godfather. The Godfather Part 1 and 2 are the films that got me interested in cinema. They completely blew me away and thats when I realized that movies can be more than just entertainment. I imagine I would have been around 15 the first time I watched them, with my father. A few months later AFI had their special "100 years 100 movies" and so I watched it. I saw a ton of films listed that of course I had never seen. I began to seek them out and watch them, which led me to criterion. Film has become not only an obsession of mine, but an artform that has helped me cope with rough times in my life recently. I aspire to make films, and hopefully that dream will come to fruition.
