Serious film buff since day one. First job an usher & doorman at film art house movie venue near SMU. The Fine Arts Theatre was in Snider Plaza now long gone. They featured sub-titled foreign films/off beat independents/euro sexual romps. Timing was spot on. All helped to create foundation and appreciation for black/white foreign films of which Criterion has managed to issue most of the great ones. We were bound to hook up eventually. Never dreamed it would turn into an obsession. Adding Bela Tarr's cinematic jewels would be crowning touch but we all have our private wishes. Criterion hits the mark dead center most of the time. They deserve shout outs for their research/archival footage/bold new film world so essential to the good of the whole. I'm hooked, seriously so. Never dreamed it would come to this.
