Been a fan of Criterion since the 80s (started with Laserdisc). Call me old school (or a hoarder), but I value the physical disc, the artwork, the materials, and the special features (both physical and on the disc) that come with each release. As I've gotten older, my tastes have broadened (or perhaps I'm just more patient). Lately, I'm enjoying enriching myself with some of the older films in the library. I can't really say I have a favorite director or movie. I picked Anderson/Tenenbaums because it's an excellent example of what I love about Criterion. I also managed to get a used, near mint DVD version of it for $2 at Blockbuster Video before they went defunct (who doesn't love a great deal, right?).
