I have always enjoyed the movies and as a teenager in the 60's was captivated by foreign films as well as classic Hollywood productions. I have also read extensively and enjoy seeing how favorite directors bring favorite literary works to life with a different perspective. Particularly enjoy films that explore what is called the human condition in meaningful ways. But I am also fond of westerns, suspense and B-movies. Films have been a lifetime passion of mine and one in which I continue to find new delight and meaning no matter how often I've seen any particular one. I have been a Criterion fan since the beginning of home video with VHS, etc. formats. Really enjoy the blu-ray editions; it's like seeing a film for the first time, no matter how often I've seen it before. I've seen most of the films in their catalog although often in substandard editions. Now collecting their superlative blu-rays.
