Dylan Faircloth

College-bound high school student with a great passion for film. Most of the films that I love are films that excel in nearly every aspect of film-making and bring some level of nuance to cliche's or originality to the big-screen. I'm a massive fan of postmodernism, surrealism, satire, and realism in cinema and I adore the works of both P.T. and Wes Anderson, as well as Haneke. Hitchcock, McQueen, and the writing/directing talents of Charlie Kaufman. Most of the films I have in my possession are in the Criterion format, but I'm starting to find a good balance of standard and Criterion edition films, as well as Plain Archive editions of films. Regardless, Criterion has had a massive impact on my appreciation of film as an art form and not just as a form of meaningless, forgettable, and tasteless entertainment that only serves to be entertaining and nothing else.

  • Favorite director: Wes Anderson
  • Favorite Criterion edition: Fantastic Mr. Fox
  • Most wanted in the collection: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), Dancer in the Dark (2000), Funny Games U.S. (2007), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), Amour (2012), The Master (2012)
