I was first introduced to the collection with the films of my favorite filmmaker Akira Kurosawa. The first of his films seen being Seven Samurai: which was also the first foreign film I ever saw. Then the first film in my collection being the Yojimbo/Sanjuro Box-Set. After that I was completely hooked, and numerous other Kurosawa's followed. After the completion of his films I began to expand my knowledge of other great foreign films; such as the films of Ingmar Bergman, Andrei Tarkovsky, Kenji Mizoguchi, Jean Renoir, and Luis Bunuel. As I became more involved with their work, I grew more and more away from the conventional films of Hollywood, which pushed me deeper and deeper into the collection, and has changed my life for the better.
