I was introduced to the collection with the films of Akira Kurosawa. The first of his films seen being Seven Samurai, then my collection started with the Yojimbo/Sanjuro Box-Set. After that I was completely hooked, and numerous other Kurosawa films followed. After the completion of his films I began to expand my knowledge of other great films such as that of Ingmar Bergman, Andrei Tarkovsky, Kenji Mizoguchi, Jean Renoir, and Luis Bunuel. As I became more involved with their work I grew further and further away from the conventional films of Hollywood, which pushed me deeper into the collection and has changed my life for the better.
