Nathan W.

I grew up during the VHS boom of the 1980s. My family went to the video store often and I scurried up and down the aisles, scanning shelves and video box art, looking for anything that piqued my interest, which were, and still are, wide and varied. This is one reason I love the Criterion Collection, their film catalogue is unparalleled when it comes to selection. Seems like I've been collecting Criterions since I've been collecting DVDs. If Criterion had been making VHS tapes, I'm sure I would of started there (I missed the whole laserdisc thing..). My current collection of movies and television shows is somewhere above 500, about 100 of which are Criterion releases. When I'm not handling books at my job at Powell's Books (the largest independent bookstore in the world) here in Portland, OR, I sometimes write about films and such over at my webblog here: squealingtiresondirt.blogspot.com . . . (check it out)
