don't argue with me.you know i'm right...and btw-i'm only including cc movies i had never seen before taking the plunge.i.e. "spinal tap" won't be included even though there's no question of it's greatness.same goes for "videodrome" and several more...that dq's alot of great movies and there are still going to be some left out unfairly.if i could i would put all 6 moral tales on here because i like to think of them as one long film but the list is a strict ten.this is harder to do than you might think...
the greatest prison escape movie ever made and that's a genre that has some serious competition.the thing that bothers me about most prison movies is that during the first act the supporting characters usually reveal themselves as a decent bunch of guys-nice guys even.the characters in le trou never lose that air of danger about them..maybe because becker used non-actors and at least one of them was actually in jail at one point.and speaking of jail-everything here is used for effect and nothing is wasted.0% body fat and an unforgettable closing line....
liv ullman's reaction after she's been told by her husband he's having an affair is the greatest piece of acting i've ever seen in my life..
i could've also picked viridiana, the exterminating angel, the discreet charm....et al.they're all equally good but simon... is funnier than any of bunuel's others...
edgar ramirez' acting deserves to be ranked in the same company as the top handful of biographical film accounts ever committed to film..
if someone had made a film in 1964 of anna karina reading the phonebook for 2 hours i would've paid good money to watch it...
jesus,what a movie!!!
