The criteria for this list are each film's transfer and the quality of the film itself.
Some of the best sword fighting I've ever seen!
Thanks to CC, this classic has been restored faithfully and, furthermore, the packaging is excellent!
Awesome horror/thriller film!
Love the fact that the overtures were included at the beginning and end of the film!
Such as sad love story. Great directing as usual by Lean.
The first Criterion title I ever watched. Furthermore, it's an excellent film. Too bad the sequels were horrendous.
Great film, and the packaging is excellent!
Amazing film, and a gorgeous transfer by the CC.
A must see for any fans of the Kurosawa/Mifune team-up! Yojimbo is definitely, IMO, the better film out of the two though.
Good stuff right here. The extraordinary talent of Mr. Lean could be seen even in his earlier works.
I love Mifune's diabolical laugh during the earlier scene in which he's tied up and being questioned by the court. Great film.
Another Kurosawa/Mifune masterpiece!
Although they are very good films, they aren't excellent, IMO. I wish there was more bloodshed and carnage during the fight scenes.
