The Hit is such a great movie. And The Long Good Friday is a favorite.

Indeed. The Long Good Friday is LONG overdue for The Criterion upgrade. Thank you for Hitting me up!

The Third Man is cinematic magic, especially when Welles' enigmatic figure finally appears. Beautifully shot, intense and nihilistic, this is far and away my favourite noir.

Agreed. Truly a Welles vehicle. From the wet streets of Vienna to Anton Karas's Zither, Third Man belongs on many a list including top noirs. Thanks for commenting!

Good list. I might add more Reed, as well as "The Small Back Room" and "Following".

Thanks briclegg! I added The Following. Good Call. I love Reed and Powell/Pressburger. I have another list dedicated to all British films I have seen, be they thriller, noir or kitchen sink.
