Your list is awesome! I was so happy to see Tomine and Clowes, and Seth as contributes to the collection.

Hey thanks. I can't wait to see what Criterion has in store for Chris Ware to illustrate/design.

Although you were probably already on it, you may wish to add Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman. When I saw the lineup contributing artwork to said anthology your list came to mind right away. Thanks for coming up with this list.

Charles Burns would be a great choice to illustrate Cronenberg's The Brood and or Scanners if either make it into The Collection.

I was wondering about who did the artwork for these covers. Now I know, and it is awesome. P. s. Imagine a cover done by Alex Ross or Dave McKean. Now THAT would be something to see.

Thank you for your Comments! Criterion now credits cover design and illustration on each film's respective page. (I must brag I compiled my list before said addition. Hah) The cover to Man Bites Dog has always reminded me of an Alex Ross piece.

As a person who works in a comic book store, I love what you have done with this list!

Very cool Lloyd. Thanks! I was so excited to see the worlds of comics and Criterion collide the first time I noticed Jaime Hernandez's distinct style grace the cover of Divorce Italian Style.

As always thank you for the kind words my friend. It would be very rewarding to know that some of what we discuss here at My Criterion informs their decisions. Yes I caught those two posts and commented on Skillman's piece. Nice to see that Jack Davis is still active (his self portrait included in the original art boards is pure master craftsman class). Thanks for associating me with said posts, for it has been a little quiet on the comic book artist designed packaging front.

I haven't the slightest idea who the artist(s) behind the New Year cartoons might be. If you do, then could you please enlighten us?

I seem to recall the artist's name being mention somewhere in the ether but for now it remains a mystery. I'll continue to investigate.

Very well. For a minute there you had us wondering whether you were the artist in question.

If only it were true. Sorry for the unintentional red herring. Or maybe it was a MacGuffin?

Thanks! It's been a while. I've been tempted to list a few other artists like Edward Sorel for his work in The New Yorker or Ralph Steadman but I want to keep the focus on the medium of comic books and cartooning.

Looks like you can add the Tati box and its contents now.

Thank you. I was unfamiliar with the artist. Looks like David Merveille all but specialized in the work of Tati!
