Eclipse from the Criterion Collection is all about discovering great movies that have been overshadowed or forgotten. Sometimes it’s a neglected director, a great artist swept aside by history and the vagaries of preservation and distribution, as with the mesmerizing Raymond Bernard. Other times we’re unburying gems from masters such as Ingmar Bergman and Louis Malle. But all the Eclipse films have one thing in common: they’re revelations.
