In conceiving the look of Weekend, director Andrew Haigh was inspired by the lighting and framing in the work of the Irish photography team Quinnford + Scout—a.k.a. Colin Quinn and Oisín Share. He also ended up hiring the pair as on-set still photographers for the film. He asked them to not only capture the scenes we see on-screen but to create moments between the characters that don’t exist in the film. Here are some of those evocative and intimate images.
