Urban sophisticate extraordinaire Whit Stillman is bringing disco back to Los Angeles. On June 2, the filmmaker will appear at the Cinefamily for a showing of his glittering 1998 tale of New York nightlife, The Last Days of Disco. This is the inaugural event of a screening and party series at the theater called CinemaDiscotheque; it starts at 10:30 p.m., and expect to stay after the credits have rolled and dance the night away. Stillman fans may also want to shimmy over to the Cinefamily on June 1, when the director will also be in attendance, for a Q&A following a screening of his latest comedy, Damsels in Distress.
Check out the original trailer for The Last Days of Disco, filled with pop chestnuts and Stillman’s trademark one-liners.
