    As impressed as I was by "Blue", "Red" is the one of the trilogy that I really could not do without in my life after I saw it. It is inexplicable to me that Irene Jacob didn't become a bigger international star, and that so few of the movies she was in after "Red" were at all worthy of her talent (see "The Inner Life of Martin Frost" for a particularly grotesque example).

    We speak of a film haunting us. This one does. It became instantly and remains one of my favourite films.

    1) Irene Jacob's haunting beauty. 2) The intricate, intimate story. 3) The ending is really great.
