Have to agree with Izzy, Josh. There's something flippant about Solondz's delivery in these films, including LDW, that makes light of these issues, no matter how "dark" they ostensibly get. Even worse is this film's inability to create anything resembling actual human behavior. The mom telling her young son about how women "get wet"? Is that supposed to be hilarious?

1. Todd Solodonz makes films that no else dares to make.
2. One of the few films that deals honestly with the effects of child abuse.
3. Criterion actually has a film with Pee Wee Herman!
