    1) One of Cocteau's most haunting films. 2) The imagery, which you can say recalls "Wings of Desire", even though it was made three decades later. 3) The supplements of the upcoming release.

    I first saw "Orfee" on a double-bill with "Beauty And The Beast" in the mid-80's. I had at least heard of the latter, but not of the former. "Beauty" blew me out of my chair, but "Orpheus" blew me right out of the theater. I have never seen anything like it, before or since, and I don't expect to. It changed the way that I think about movies forever. The word "masterpiece" was invented in order to describe this film.
